Pondering Perplexities

perplexities worth pondering for me today...

power of prayer... what is prayer? is God listening? how do i know? do my prayers change anything? why pray if prayers don't change anything? when a football game is played people on both sides are praying that their team wins... does God listen to one team's prayer more than the other team?

forgiveness... once again... what is it? when i forgive am i saying that what the person did against me is ok? does forgiveness mean that i talk to the person again? i read that i am supposed to forgive the same way jesus forgives me. how is that? is reconciliation always a part of forgiveness?

natural disasters... isn't God in control of the world? why does God allow the hurricanes like Fay, Gustav and Ike destroy so many people's lives, homes, property, businesses? Is the natural order of the world more powerful than God?

families... why are so many so messed up? is there just one normal, healthy, happy family out there somewhere?
